Discover Your Power
Being yourself is a super-power and power is understanding that you are not a slave to others. Understanding means not killing yourself by denying yourself or lying to yourself to please other people. Power is being true to who you are with the freedom to be uniquely you. If power, freedom, and release from emotional pain are essential to you, then this practice is for you.
This practice is built upon Martin Butler’s work on understanding ourselves, others, and the world. The source of this understanding comes through philosophy, physics, and psychology. It forms a solid foundation that transcends volatile thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations.
Martin Butler’s understanding is a philosophy and practice based on self-knowledge. His work ponders time, space, and consciousness and is based on philosophers such as Plato, Aristotle, Spinoza, Schopenhauer, Kant, and Hegel. Additionally, this work draws from Gurdjieff’s Fourth Way and eastern traditions, such as Zen.
The goal is simple enough: to understand ourselves and through understanding, we cease our inner wars and use that knowledge to transcend our conditioned nature. Most importantly, this does not imply some heroic inner struggle. When we transcend through understanding, learned behaviours lose their grip over us and we conquer our troublesome emotions.
Psychologist Deborah Butler teaches the practice.
